WORKING WITH STATBRIDGE

We work across the full spectrum of health research, data analytics, policy advisory, health systems strengthening, and capacity building. Projects range from short, focused engagements — such as statistical support for a grant application or a one-day training workshop — to multi-month technical assistance programmes. If you are unsure whether your project falls within our scope, get in touch and we will tell you honestly whether we can help.

Every engagement begins with a free 30-minute scoping call. From there, we send a tailored written proposal outlining our approach, deliverables, timeline, and fees. Once agreed, we begin work with regular check-ins and transparent progress updates throughout. We do not disappear after signing a contract — we remain accessible and responsive for the duration of every project.

Yes, always. We never begin billable work without a written proposal that has been reviewed and agreed by the client. The proposal sets out the scope, methodology, deliverables, timeline, and fees in clear terms — so there are no surprises on either side.

Our fees vary depending on the scope, duration, and complexity of the work. We provide a detailed cost breakdown in every proposal. We work with clients across a range of budget levels — including academic institutions and NGOs with constrained budgets — and we are transparent about what is and is not achievable within a given resource envelope. We do not publish standard rates, as most of our work is scoped specifically to the client’s needs. Contact us to discuss your project and we will provide a realistic indication of cost at no obligation.

Yes. While we are based in Bristol, UK and Eldoret, Kenya, we work with clients across multiple countries and regions. Much of our experience has been in East and Southern Africa and the UK, but we are well-positioned to support projects in diverse global health contexts — including remote and virtual engagements.

We treat data security as a core professional obligation, not an afterthought. We comply with GDPR and relevant data protection frameworks, apply appropriate encryption and access controls, and agree data handling protocols with clients in writing before any analysis begins. Client data is never shared with third parties.

HEALTH RESEARCH & DATA ANALYTICS

We work with a wide range of data types: epidemiological surveillance data, household health surveys (including DHS and MICS), routine health management information (HMIS and DHIS2), electronic medical records, clinical trial data, and large-scale digital health platform data. If you are unsure whether your data falls within our scope, get in touch — we are happy to discuss.

Yes. We provide end-to-end research support — from defining your research question and selecting the right methodology, through to sample size calculation, data collection tool design, analysis, and write-up. We can be involved at every stage or brought in at a specific point in the process.

Yes. We design interactive dashboards and visual reporting tools that enable clients to monitor trends and communicate findings clearly to a range of audiences — from field teams to senior decision-makers and donors. We build in R Shiny, Tableau, and Power BI depending on the client’s technical environment and preferences.

Yes — this is one of the most common ways clients first engage us. We can contribute to the methods section of a grant application, provide sample size calculations, design the data management and analysis plan, or review and strengthen an existing analytical framework. We are familiar with the requirements of major funders including FCDO, USAID, Wellcome Trust, and NIHR.

POLICY ADVISORY & HEALTH SYSTEMS

We advise government health ministries and agencies, international and national NGOs, multilateral institutions, academic research groups, and private sector health organisations. Our experience spans East and Southern Africa, the UK, and other low- and middle-income country contexts.

We draw on systematic review of current research, analysis of available data, and contextual assessment of the operating environment. We are explicit about the strength of evidence underpinning our recommendations and we flag uncertainty rather than overstate confidence — an analytically honest approach that we believe produces better policy outcomes than false certainty.

Yes. Advisory and implementation are not separate in our model. We offer ongoing technical assistance, stakeholder engagement support, and capacity building to ensure recommendations translate into practice — and we can design monitoring frameworks to track progress over time.

Health systems strengthening focuses on building the capacity, resilience, and performance of the six core building blocks of a health system: service delivery, the health workforce, health information systems, access to medicines and technologies, health financing, and leadership and governance. In practice, our engagements range from targeted diagnostic assessments to multi-year technical assistance programmes.

No — and this is important. Some of our most impactful work has been targeted and focused: improving a specific supply chain, strengthening one aspect of a district health information system, or designing a workforce training programme for a single facility type. We tailor our scope to what will genuinely make a difference for you.

We co-design solutions with local teams from the outset, prioritise knowledge transfer throughout, and embed monitoring mechanisms so that improvements are tracked and sustained. We measure success not by deliverables produced, but by capability that remains after we leave.

CAPACITY BUILDING & TRAINING

Our programmes are designed for public health professionals, epidemiologists, data analysts, programme managers, M&E officers, and policymakers at all levels. We also run introductory programmes for frontline health workers who need foundational data literacy skills.

Yes. We offer in-person workshops, virtual instructor-led training, and hybrid formats. We can also develop asynchronous e-learning modules for organisations that need flexible, self-paced options.

Absolutely. All of our training is contextualised to the organisation’s sector, data environment, and learning goals. We begin with a needs assessment, then design content, exercises, and tools around what will be most useful in practice — not a generic syllabus.

Participants receive a certificate of completion for all our programmes. For more advanced courses, we can explore accreditation in partnership with relevant academic institutions — please mention this requirement when making your enquiry.

Our training covers a range of tools depending on client needs, including R, Stata, SAS, MATLAB, DHIS2, and general data management and visualisation tools. All training is applied — participants work with real or realistic datasets rather than abstract examples, so skills are immediately transferable to their work.
